An alumnus of Armed Forces Medical College, Pune(1977-81), he completed M.D. (Medicine) from Pune University in 1989 and D.M. (Gastroenterology) from PGIMER Chandigarh in 1995. With fellowships in Hepatology & Liver Transplantation (Birmingham, UK) and Advance GI Endoscopy & Endoscopic Ultrasound (South Carolina & Alabama, USA), he has served as Governing Council member for Indian Society of Gastroenterology (ISG) and Society of GI Endoscopy of India (SGEI). A recognized teacher for MBBS, DNB (Medicine) and currently DNB (Gastroenterology), he has over 100 publications to his credit.
